West Coast Hideaways is delighted welcome guests to the stunning North West Highlands. We are open for online bookings for the 2022 season.

Please read before making your reservation. By making a booking, you agree to accept our full terms & conditions. A link is available at the bottom of the page.


1. The maximum number of staying guests per shepherd hut is 2 people (including children & infants)

2. Bookings are accepted following receipt of a 25% deposit. We consider our full Terms and Conditions to have been accepted by you on receipt of the deposit payment.

3. The balance is payable 42 days before arrival, non-payment within this time limit will be treated as a cancellation.

4. For bookings made less than 42 days before arrival, full payment is required at the time of booking.

5. Acceptable methods of payment are by Credit or Debit Card, all payments are in GBP Sterling

6. Cancellation and amendments to bookings e.g. moving dates may incur a £20 admin fee.

7. Bookings made through our online booking system are provisional until confirmed by West Coast Hideaways by email.


Guests must check-in and check-out by the times stated below;

Check-in between: 16:30pm and before 18:30pm on day of arrival.

Check-out by: 10:00am on day of departure

Lets are for short stays or full weeks


Minimum Stays

Weekends are Friday – Monday 3 nights minimum

Rowan & Iris Shepherd Huts:

February/ March/ November 2 night weekday stay

April – October:  Monday – Friday 4 nights

Handa Hut:

2 night stays available mid -week.

We are unable to offer single night stays.


Low Season: November – March from £130 per night

High Season: April – October from £140 per night

Weekly Stays
Up to 10% discount on Seasonal rate

Dogs – Rowan hut is pet friendly and one small dog is welcome stay [see Dog policy] on prior agreement at booking and an additional cleaning fee of £20 is a charged.

No smoking or vaping is allowed inside the huts at any time, any cigarette butts etc must be disposed of carefully and not discarded on the ground.

West Coast Hideaways take the welfare of our guests and team very seriously. We are a member of the Association of Scottish Self-Caterers (ASSC) and we follow the Covid 19 risk assessment and cleaning protocols recommended by the ASSC & PASC (Professional Association of Self Caterers) endorsed by the Scottish & UK Governments. We are participants in the Visit Scotland ‘We’re Good to Go Scheme’.

Cancellation, Returned Deposit & Non-Arrival Conditions

Cancellations must be made in writing preferably by email.

Full balance is due within 42 days. Non payment is taken as a cancellation and the deposit in these circumstances is non-refundable.

Cancellations up to 28 days prior to arrival, guests will receive a refund of monies paid less the administration fee £20.

Cancellations between 28 to 14 days prior to arrival guests will receive a refund of monies paid less the deposit & administration fee.

Cancellations 14 days to arrival date. Payments made are non-refundable*

*If the accommodation is successfully re-let we will refund monies paid up to the value of the re-let less any fees incurred.

Non-arrival guests, who are unable to attend or fail to attend for whatever reason forfeit their  monies paid. 

We suggested that for ALL booking guests take out appropriate holiday insurance. Our cancellation policy is not a substitute for individuals protecting their holiday.

In the rare event we need to cancel your booking with us, please be aware that we cannot be held liable for circumstances beyond our control and that our liability to you is limited to the refund of any payment already made.

Damage or loss deposits (if paid) will be refunded in the case of a cancellation.

Refunds will be paid onto the card used to book the accommodation.


Lockdown / Travel Restrictions: If your booking is impacted by a legal lock-down/ travel restrictions please contact as soon as possible. We will move bookings or refund.

Self Isolation due to Covid: Any cancellation due to illness is subject to our standard T&C’s refund policy. We recommend all guests take out holiday insurance to cover late cancellation/ being unable to proceed due to illness including covid.

Experience symptoms of Covid 19 pre stay: Do not travel to our accommodation if you are experiencing symptoms of Covid 19 or have been in contact with someone positive for Covid19, have been requested to quarantine or self-isolate or tested positive for Covid 19. 

If you test positive or develop symptoms during your stay

If you develop symptoms of COVID-19 during your stay you must inform us immediately.  If you are well enough to travel you should return home and self-isolate in accordance with current Government guidance.

The cancellation policy in place at the time of the booking being made is the valid policy for that booking.
