Directly on the NC500 route close to the fabulous Achmelvich & Clachtoll beaches, the Wailing Widows waterfall and the stunning mountains of the Assynt.
Boat trips available from both Kylesku and Lochinver as well as paddle board hire for the local beaches.
For the foodies who wish to eat out, check out the Kylesku Hotel/ Newtown Lodge loch side restaurants and in Lochinver, Peet’s Restaurant, Delilah’s restaurant and bar, the famous Lochinver Larder pie shop, or the pop-up Catchtoll fish and chip van.
Sometimes it appears that booking is not possible because this may be outside our usual arrival/changeover days. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with any queries regarding availability as we may be able to accommodate you.

1. The maximum number of staying guests per shepherd hut is 2 people (minimum age 18)
2. Bookings are accepted following receipt of a 25% deposit. We consider our full Terms and Conditions to have been accepted by you on receipt of the deposit payment.
3. The balance is payable 42 days before arrival, non-payment within this time limit will be treated as a cancellation.
4. For bookings made less than 42 days before arrival, full payment is required at the time of booking.
5. Acceptable methods of payment are by Credit or Debit Card, all payments are in GBP Sterling
6. Bookings made through our online booking system are provisional until confirmed by West Coast Hideaways by email.
CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT
Guests must check-in and check-out by the times stated below;
Check-in between: 16:30pm and before 18:30pm on day of arrival.
Check-out by: 10:00am on day of departure
Lets are for short stays or full weeks
Minimum Stay requirements
Due to the time involved in changeovers we do not allow one night stays.
HIGH SEASON Weekends are Friday – Monday 3 nights minimum in all 3 shepherd huts.
LOW SEASON During low season you may book 2 nights minimum in all 3 shepherd huts.
Rowan and Iris shepherd huts:
Low Season (November-March): Mid-week stays start from 2 nights.
High Season (April-October): Mid week stays are Monday – Friday, 4 nights
2 night stays available mid-week (Tuesday/ Wednesday)
Low Season: November – March from £125 per night
High Season: April – October from £145 per night
Extras: hot tub heated for arrival £65, wood bundle £12, Smidge £9, BBQ coals £4.50
Up to 10% discount on Seasonal rate
Dogs – Rowan hut is pet friendly and one small-medium dog is welcome [see Dog policy] by prior agreement at booking. An additional cleaning fee of £20 is charged.
No smoking or vaping is allowed inside the huts at any time. Any cigarette butts must be disposed of carefully and not discarded on the ground.
West Coast Hideaways take the welfare of our guests and team very seriously. We are a member of the Association of Scottish Self-Caterers (ASSC)
Cancellation, Returned Deposit & Non-Arrival Conditions
Cancellations must be made in writing preferably by email.
Full balance is due within 42 days. Non payment is taken as a cancellation and the deposit in these circumstances is non-refundable.
For cancellations up to 30 days prior to arrival, guests will receive a refund of monies paid less the administration fee £20.
For cancellations between 30 days and arrival date, payments made are non-refundable although we will happily rebook you or provide a voucher.**
**If the accommodation is successfully re-let we will refund monies paid up to the value of the re-let less any fees incurred including the £20 administration fee.
Non-arrival guests who are unable to attend or fail to attend forfeit their monies paid. This may be waived in exceptional circumstances at our discretion.
We suggested that for all booking guests take out appropriate holiday insurance. Our cancellation policy is not a substitute for individuals protecting their holiday.
In the rare event we need to cancel your booking with us, please be aware that we cannot be held liable for circumstances beyond our control and that our liability to you is limited to the refund of any payment already made.
Damage or loss deposits (if paid) will be refunded in the case of a cancellation.
Refunds will be paid onto the original payment card used to book the accommodation.
The cancellation policy in place at the time of the booking being made is the valid policy for that booking.
